New and Updated eBooks from Glorian
For the first time, you can now read all of our books on any ebook reader, and they are as good or better than the print editions.
Previously, we only had a few ebooks that were made back in 2010. At that time, ebooks were very difficult to make, and we simply did not have the resources to make more.
We recently announced that in 2025 Glorian would totally reinvent itself. This is step one. When envisioning our 2025 re-design, our first priority was to improve access to the books anywhere people look for books. This is especially important in regions where our print editions cannot be easily found, such as Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Singapore, etc. By making our ebooks visible in their ebook markets, we can now provide the teachings to many more people.
It took us a few months to make all of the ebooks, and a few more months to get them properly listed in all of the markets (there was a lot of resistance!) Finally, after all of that hard work, we are very happy to present:
Our Entire Catalog as Ebooks
These new ebooks have the most up-to-date editorial improvements, footnotes, glossaries, appendices, illustrations, and more.
You can now find all of Glorian's books in all of the major ebook markets.
On our website, every book now links to the ebook versions.
While we still prefer print editions for their many advantages, ebooks have their place and unique uses, so from now on all of our books will be available as print and ebooks.
Why Not Free?
We are often told that our books should be free. We agree! In fact, for more than two decades all of the books have been free to read on our website, to ensure that anyone who can access the internet can read the books. While this may have helped some readers who happen to find them on the internet, it has not helped make the books visible in the book markets or stores.
When you want to read a book, you look in a bookstore or market. That is true for everyone, all over the world: people get books from bookstores and online book sites. For twenty-five years, we have been trying to get these books visible in bookstores, but there is a lot of resistance.
Bookstores need to sell books to stay in business. They have no incentive to offer free books, and make no effort to promote them. They will happily present our books in their stores if people want them, they are professionally made, and priced at market value. In fact, they will actively promote books that people buy. This is not possible with "free" editions.
We tried a few times to offer free ebooks; very few people read them. We also tried offering ebooks for $0.99; people do not buy them at that price, and since there is no demand, booksellers do not promote them, therefore the books remained obscure, hard to find.
Part of the reason is that people do not value "free" or "cheap" things. Something that is "free" or $0.99 is viewed with suspicion, or as something disposable, without value. Even if that "free" item is accepted, it is not valued or appreciated. On the other hand, when someone pays for something, they take it more seriously. This is simply the way people are today.
We believe our books have value, and we hope you believe that, too. By selling our books at market value, we demonstrate to the reader and the bookseller that our books are worthwhile; they have value. We have learned that when our books are priced the same as other ebooks, booksellers and readers view them more seriously, and booksellers promote them, to make them more visible to readers. That ultimately accomplishes our aim: to bring the books to more readers, and show them the value of the teachings.
And just to be clear, Glorian is a non-profit. No one is pocketing the earnings from our books. All proceeds from book sales keep our website online and help us create the many free resources we offer.
You Can Help
We sincerely hope that you will help us raise awareness of the ebooks. You can do this by:
- Purchasing them; this proves to the bookseller that people want these books. When they see a book is selling, they will raise the visibility of the books to other people. This is the best way to raise awareness of the books.
- Writing reviews. Let others know how the book has helped you.
- Letting others know about them. Glorian has no marketing department, no marketing budget, and no other way to promote the ebooks: we are relying on the community to help.
Thank you for your support.
We pray that these new ebooks will help many people find the balm for their suffering.
